Opportunities With Black Cricket Animal Services

Black Cricket provides a range of volunteering opportunities.

We are positive about disability and welcome people aged over 16 years old to apply to volunteer with us.

We welcome people between the ages of 14 - 16 for some roles and we like to support them to achieve their badge/s for Scouts, Guides and evidence towards their Duke of Edinburgh.

Volunteers will need to be friendly, reliable, have an interest in animals and able to work as a member within a fun team. A willingness to learn is important as is the ability to "get stuck in".

Volunteers will gain and develop a variety of transferable skills when volunteering with us and will get to work with a variety of animals, both invertebrates and vertebrates. You will also get to meet a variety of people.

We have volunteering opportunities available within our It's A Bug's World events and displays and in our animal handling experiences. There are also volunteering opportunities within our Kids Club sessions but due to the ages (and possible disabilities) of participants in the Club we are more selective with the volunteers we have for these sessions.

We also work closely with International Herpetological Society Anglia (IHS Anglia) and a couple of rescues, and volunteering opportunities arise when we attend / support their activities and events.

Training is given as and where required.

If you would like to volunteer with Black Cricket please send us a message. Don't forget to tell us a little bit about yourself, your contact details and why you would like to volunteer with us.                        We look forward to hearing from you.
